Dottie Sacritz's painting began 10 years ago as a hobby and has blossomed into a passion. Preferring acrylics because she can more easily vary the texture and surface of the painting, she layers colors to create vibrancy. She describes her work as "realistic with an abstract composition," and she captures contrasts, light and shadow and line in nature. As a caregiver to her daughter-in-law, Dottie recognizes the importance of just being present. She advises new caregivers to not be scared of the word cancer. "You can get through this challenge. It may not be easy, but you will find that you can deal with it."
